1
For the Chocolate Cake: Ready all the ingredients. Sprinkle oreo cookies, pinch of salt and mix warm milk as needed and make a cake batter. Add the baking powder and vinegar and mix.
2
Grease a loose-bottomed tin. Pour a layer of dough 1 cm thick.
3
Bake in a preheated oven at 160°C for 7-8 minutes or until a knife inserted into it comes out clean. Let cool on a rack.
4
For the homemade pistachio paste: Prepare all the ingredients for the pistachio paste. Lightly melt the white chocolate in a double boiler (otherwise the mixer paddle may break). Sprinkle coarsely chopped pistachio into blender. Add the condensed milk.
5
Add slightly warmed and slightly melted white and milk chocolate as needed and blend to a smooth paste (green food coloring can be added. I haven't done this).
6
For Kunafa: In a kadhaai, take ghee and roast the sevaiiya on low heat. Keep stirring until a nice toasted aroma is released. Let it cool. Add the homemade pistachio paste and mix well.
7
Lip-smacking Kunafa is ready. Spread a 2cm layer on the cooled chocolate cake.
8
Melt the dark chocolate and strained malai and prepare the chocolate ganache. Cool and pour over the Kunafa layer.
9
Garnish Pistachio Kunafa Chocolate Cake with chopped pistachio and silver balls. Store in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours. Then unmold the Kunafa Cake.
10
I also made Kunafa pastries. Cut and enjoy. The cake looked so pretty we could keep it or keep it!! ☺
